Privacy Policy
Effective 26 September 2026
The short version: OneSober is local-first. Your drink diary is stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, may synchronize through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account. Neon Tiger Labs has no OneSober account system or app server that receives your diary and cannot browse your private iCloud records. The app uses limited, opt-out product analytics that exclude your diary content. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-app or cross-site behavioral advertising.
1. Who we are
OneSober is made by Neon Tiger Labs LLC, a California limited liability company. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Neon Tiger Labs LLC; “the app” refers to the OneSober iOS app, and “the site” refers to onesober.app.
2. Your OneSober diary
OneSober stores the diary information you choose to enter in local app storage. Depending on how you use the app, that information may include drink entries, dates and times, drink and serving details, volume and strength, quantity, optional price and currency, notes, optional photos, saved drink presets, sober-day marks, day notes, goals, and app preferences.
Totals and other day-level summaries are calculated from your records. Neon Tiger Labs does not operate an account or application server that receives your diary content.
3. Private iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is available, OneSober may synchronize supported diary records and attached photo data through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account.
Apple governs that processing under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Neon Tiger Labs does not have application-level access to your private CloudKit records.
CloudKit synchronization necessarily sends the records being synchronized to Apple’s iCloud service. This is separate from the product analytics described below.
4. Product analytics and diagnostics
OneSober uses TelemetryDeck for limited product-interaction and diagnostic signals. These signals help us understand whether core flows work and where the app needs maintenance.
These signals describe coarse product usage and technical context, such as use of a logging or calendar action, settings changes, app version, operating-system version, or a limited diagnostic category. TelemetryDeck may also use a pseudonymous installation identifier to group product events. Neon Tiger Labs does not link that identifier to a OneSober account or known identity.
Diary content is excluded from these signals. OneSober does not put drink names, diary timestamps, serving amounts, strength, prices, notes, photos, sober-day content, or day-note text into its analytics payloads.
Analytics are enabled by default. You can turn them off in Settings › Privacy & Security.
5. App Lock
OneSober offers an optional App Lock that uses Apple’s Local Authentication framework. Depending on your device, iOS may authenticate you with Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. OneSober does not receive or store your biometric template or device passcode; the system returns only the authentication result to the app.
6. Photos
If you attach a photo to a diary entry, the photo is stored with that record. When iCloud synchronization is active, the photo data may also synchronize through your private iCloud database as described in Section 3.
7. Export
OneSober can prepare an export of your diary data on your device and hand the resulting file to Apple’s share interface so you can choose where it goes. Neon Tiger Labs does not receive the contents of your export. After you share it, the destination you selected governs that copy.
8. The website
onesober.app is a static informational site. It does not use advertising pixels or behavioral-advertising technology. Standard operational request information, such as IP address, requested path, browser or user-agent information, timestamp, and response status, may be processed by the hosting/CDN infrastructure to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
9. Data we do not receive
Neon Tiger Labs does not receive through the OneSober app:
- Your name, email address, or OneSober account credentials — the app has no Neon Tiger Labs account system.
- Your drink diary, notes, photos, sober-day content, or goals as analytics payloads.
- Your Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode data.
- Your contacts or precise location.
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app or cross-site profiling.
10. Services relevant to this policy
- Apple CloudKit for private iCloud synchronization.
- Apple Local Authentication for App Lock.
- TelemetryDeck for the opt-out product analytics and diagnostics described in Section 4.
- Our hosting / CDN for serving the website and standard operational logs.
OneSober does not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, the Meta/Facebook SDK, or behavioral-advertising pixels for cross-app or cross-site profiling.
11. Deletion and your controls
Settings includes a Delete All Data action for diary content. If iCloud synchronization is active, the deletion propagates through CloudKit to your other signed-in devices after synchronization completes.
Uninstalling OneSober removes its local app data from that device but does not necessarily remove synchronized records already stored in your iCloud account. Apple provides iCloud storage controls in iOS Settings for managing app data stored in iCloud.
You can also turn product analytics off in Settings. There is no Neon Tiger Labs account to close or server-side diary profile for us to delete.
12. Children
OneSober is intended for adults managing their own drink diary and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly use the app to collect personal information from children under 13.
13. California residents
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. OneSober’s limited product analytics are not linked by Neon Tiger Labs to an account or known identity and can be disabled in Settings. California residents may contact privacy@neontigerlabs.com with a privacy request or question.
14. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and describe material changes on this page or in an app update where appropriate.
